SOLEIL Optional Visit

An optional visit to the French Synchrotron Center SOLEIL will be organized in the afternoon of October 16th.

- General presentation of the SOLEIL synchrotron by the communication department (Welcome Amphitheater)

- Tour of the beamlines "from molecule to organism":

• PX1 (crystallography) and Polaris (Cryo EM) -> molecule
• DISCO (ultraviolet) and SMIS (infrared) -> cell - tissue
• ANATOMIX (hard X-ray tomography) -> organism

The tours will be conducted by the scientists from the beamlines.

For safety reasons, the list of participants, including their names and phone numbers, must be provided in advance of the visit, and the number of participants is limited to a maximum of 45 people. Those interested are invited to respond to specific communications regarding the visit.

Visits are prohibited for people with electronic equipment that have an impact on their health (pacemaker, insulin pump, neurostimulator for epileptic seizures, etc.), due to the presence of powerful magnets. Note that cochlear implants are authorized, even if the magnetic fields can cause crackling sounds without consequence.
